Charter & fleet

One unit, any tail on the certificate.

Equipping a fleet is a different problem from equipping an aircraft. The aircraft question is which system to fit. The fleet question is how to give every passenger the same experience when the tails are different ages, different types, and fitted with different cabin systems.

The fleet problem

Installed systems make every tail its own project.

An installed upgrade is scoped per airframe. Different types mean different engineering, different approvals and separate shop visits, and the aircraft comes out of service one at a time. A fleet-wide rollout becomes a programme measured in quarters.

The result is usually a fleet where the newest aircraft has a good cabin experience and the rest do not — which is exactly the inconsistency a charter client notices, because they book the operator rather than the tail number.

Why portable changes the arithmetic

Nothing is bound to an airframe.

The CSS-100 is loose equipment. It is not wired in, not fastened to structure, and not tied to a particular aircraft in any way. A single unit can move between tails as the schedule requires, because there is nothing to uninstall and nothing to re-approve when it moves.

That turns a per-airframe capital decision into a question of how many units you need in circulation — which is a scheduling question, and a far smaller one.

  • Carried aboard, stowed, and ready for use within one minute of power up.
  • Two pounds, five by six by three inches — it lives in a flight bag between legs.
  • Works alongside whatever cabin system each tail happens to have.
  • No installation on any aircraft, so no aircraft leaves service.

Consistency

The same cabin experience regardless of which aircraft flies.

Because the passenger experience lives on the unit rather than in the aircraft, it is identical wherever the unit goes. The same live 3D moving map, the same flight information, the same on-demand media library, the same points of interest.

Your branding travels with it. The operator’s logo is carried through the passenger interface in both the browser and the Robin app, so the experience is yours rather than the airframe manufacturer’s — and it is the same on the oldest tail as on the newest.

The media library is loaded on the unit itself, so nothing depends on a connectivity plan or on which aircraft has which subscription. A tail without connectivity delivers the same library as a tail with it.

Passengers

Nothing for the guest to install.

Charter passengers are, by definition, first-time users almost every time. Anything requiring a download, an account or a briefing will not get used within a two-hour leg.

The CSS-100 runs in the browser the passenger already has. They join the cabin network, scan the QR code on the placard, and the map and media are there — no App Store, no account, nothing left behind on the device afterwards. Crew and repeat flyers who prefer an icon can use the Robin app instead; both routes reach the same system.
